Amanda McLean
Australian soft pastel artist.
Amanda McLean is a nationally renowned Artist who has been painting professionally for over 30 years & teaching for over 25. She has a passion for the Australian landscape and coastline in its varying forms and is recognized for her sensitive interpretations, especially her rendering of clouds, skies, and water. Her paintings are often hailed for their sensitivity and ‘sense of place’.
She has written extensively for Australian Artist Magazine and International Artist Magazine and other publications and was an editorial consultant to Australian Artist for many years. They described her as ‘one of the country's leading pastel artists. Amanda has worked closely with the Australian Company Art Spectrumand they have produced over 40 pastel colours using her recipes. As well as paper colours in their Colourfix range.
A popular tutor, her teaching style is positive, empathetic and she is generous in sharing her knowledge. She has taught many classes & workshops both nationally & internationally. Amanda currently conducts private Classes near her home in Murrumbateman, just outside the A.C.T., Master classes and workshops from her studio and other workshops both locally and interstate regularly on request.
Amanda has appeared on Colour In Your Life, an international art documentary series that is available on YouTube.
Amanda has a long history of group & solos exhibitions since the mid-Eighties, including an international exhibition. Her work is collected both nationally and internationally.
